Dear Parents & Students,

We have our next Testing for all students that are ready on Saturday, August 29th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Cottonwood Heights Rec Center. For more information on this event please click here.

We will also be hosting this year's IMA Family Tournament. We have reserved the basketball court at the Cottonwood Heights Rec Center on November 21st from 9-3. Please mark your calendars! We will also need volunteers to give assitance with keeping track of the time, scores, and handing out metals. We will also need help with set-up and clean-up. Please let us know if you are available to help in any way!

Last but not least, as a reminder, please be sure to register for the Gasshuku if you are planning to attend. The 15th Annual Rocky Mountain Gasshuku will be held at the Keystone Resort in Colorado on September 25-27th. The registration form and fees must be received by the hobu dojo in Colorado before September 18th or there is a $25 late fee. We encourage everyone to attend. July 12th, 2009 - Black Belt Testing & Garage Sale

We would like to send a big congratulations to all of our instructors! Scott Stratten, Christian Buehler, and Brittany Pham all tested and passed the first part of the needan (2nd Dan) test in Colorado three weeks ago. Right now they are considered Needan-Ho. Everyone worked really hard to get to this point. We all appreciate all the time and effort they put into each class they help to teach. Keep up the good work!

We also had a very successful garage sale this past weekend. I want to give a big thanks to Chris and the Sturua, Pham, Heise, Meland, and Straaten family for their donations! I would also like to thank the Phams, Heise Family, Nate, and the Straatens for all their help! It was not only successful in monetary terms, but it was fun!

We would like to make this an annual event! Please give us ideas on dates that would be better for you next year. This is a great opportunity to help raise money for the competition team and to get rid of all those items from spring cleaning!

Thank you!
